Autocephalous Archbishop Sees “Improvement” In Inter-Orthodox Relations
Archbishop Ihor stated that ”in recent times the UAOC has expressed its readiness for dialogue and optimal partnership in its relations with the UOC-KP.” The archbishop admitted that both Churches are ready for a certain consolidation and are ready to try to work together at realizing common projects. Pointing out signs of mutual good will, he also noted that “no offensive statements have come” from either side in recent times. He added that “regarding the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate [UOC-MP] both Churches (UAOC and UOC-KP) are hoping for the best, but right now there are no grounds for idealizing the situation.” The information for this article was taken from the Ukrainian-language site www.ukrop.com.
