The All-Ukrainian Summit of Jewish Youth, organized by the Ukrainian Union of Jewish Students (UUJS) with the support of VAAD of Ukraine, the Ukrainian-Israeli Institute for Strategic Studies named after Golda Meir and other organizations, was held in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The purpose of the summit is to involve young people in active participation in the life of the Jewish community of Ukraine, VAAD reports.

Co-president of the VAAD of Ukraine extended congratulations to the participants of the summit, as well as a lecture on the problems and tasks of the modern Jewish community.

“The Jewish community that exists in Ukraine is one of the largest in the world. The community has no future if it does not work with young people, and if the youth does not work in the community, does not integrate into its institutions, relationships, its life, and naturally does not continue to promote Jewish life in a given country ... You are lucky because a very important part of the history of Ukraine - its formation as a state falls for the period of your youth... Believe that not every country, even a civilized one, such as the countries of Western Europe or the USA, young people believe they can change something,” he said.

At the summit, a new board of directors was elected. In particular, Hanna Vyshnyakova became the new president of the organization, UNIAN-religion reports.
