Delegation of UOC-MP Meets With Patriarch Theophilus III in Jerusalem

On July 30, a delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) led by its Primate’s secretary, Archbishop Oleksandr of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi and Vyshneve, met with Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem and All Palestine in his residence in Jerusalem. Archbishop Oleksandr passed to the patriarch a letter from Metropolitan Volodymyr regarding the transportation of one of the Jerusalem shrines to Ukraine.

According to the  press service of the UOC-MP, the participants of the meeting considered general questions of modern church life. Patriarch Theophilus discussed with the visitors the issue of the mutual influence of the church relations and the political situation in the world. The patriarch also inquired about the condition of Metropolitan Volodymyr and assured the archbishop of his prayers for the metropolitan. In his turn, Archbishop Oleksandr thanked the patriarch and passed him a personal gift from Metropolitan Volodymyr.
