Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All-Ukraine met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine Ricardo Lopez-Aranda Jagu at his residence-Metropolitan House, on September 28, 2022.

According to the OCU Press service, the Primate of the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine thanked the Ambassador for the support and assistance that Spain provides to our state in the difficult time of Russian aggression.

"We are paying a huge price for our striving for freedom, independence, democracy and the European vector of development. Therefore, we are grateful for the full support of our international friends and ask them to continue and strengthen it," the Metropolitan said in particular.

For his part, Ricardo Lopez-Aranda Jagu assured His Beatitude that Spain is unwavering in matters of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and has already provided our state with unprecedented assistance in its history and will continue to do so, including joining the restoration of Ukrainian cities.

In addition, during the conversation, the parties discussed issues of Chaplain ministry, implementation of social projects and interfaith relations.

"Together, we must defend the good and truth because this war has affected the life of almost the entire world. Therefore, the spread of evil produced by Russia must be stopped. I am convinced that with God's help and with the support of friends like Spain, we will be able to do this," metropolitan Epifaniy concluded.
