Metropolitan Volodymyr Met with Health Care Minister of Ukraine

On March 29, 2010, the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow (UOC-MP) met with the newly appointed Health Care Minister Zynovii Mytnyk at his residence at the Kyiv Cave Monastery.

KYIV – On March 29, 2010, the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow (UOC-MP) met with the newly appointed Health Care Minister Zynovii Mytnyk at his residence at the Kyiv Cave Monastery, reports the UOC-MP web site.


In the course of the conversation the development of church-state relations in the area of health care was considered, and a joint initiative to pay tribute to the memory of the prominent church figure and doctor, the Holy Hierarch Luke (Voyno-Yasenetskyi), on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his repose in the Lord (June 11, 2011) was proposed.

Furthermore, Zynovii Mytnyk extended gratitude to the primate for the church's work in providing spiritual and charitable help to palliative and hospice patients. Also the mutual desire to continue the cooperation further for the benefit of the Ukrainian nation was expressed.

Before the meeting began, the archpastor blessed the head of the ministry and the accompanying persons for future work and performed a prayer service in St. Nicholas Church at the metropolitan's apartments.
