According to official information, there are 81 Muslim religious buildings in the oblasts of Ukraine and 238 in the Crimean Autonomous Republic.

Notably, in the last three years, in Crimea, only four new Muslim organizations have been registered, whereas in Ukraine, this number has increased by one and a half times.

As of January 1, 2008, 29 Islamic organizations were registered in the Kherson Oblast; three years later there were 61.

The publication reminds that there are several centers of Muslims in Ukraine.

The Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Ukraine is located in Kyiv and competes with the Spiritual Directorate of Crimean Muslims based in Simferopol. (The Crimean Muftiat calls the Kyiv opponents sectarians.)

In addition, there is a spiritual center of Muslims of Ukraine in Donetsk, which is associated with Rinat Akhmetov.

In Kyiv there is also registered the Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Ukraine “Ummah” (on the basis of the public organization “Alraid”) and the Religious Directorate of Independent Muslim Communities of Ukraine
