Occupation authority's department of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in Crimea refused to register the religious organization “Ukrainian Orthodox parish of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Volodymyr and Princess Olha” on the request of Archbishop Klyment. This was reported by UNN with reference to the public organization CrimeaSOS.
“Based on the results of review of the above-mentioned documents on April 12, 2019, on the grounds provided for in paragraph 1 of Article 12 of the Federal Law of September 26, 1997, No. 125-FZ “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Associations”, the department made a decision to deny the state registration of the organization during its establishment,” the organization cited the response of the occupation department.
It is noted that the reasons for the denial of registration are not specified.
The said article of the law states that the reason for the denial of registration may be, in particular, the discrepancy with the objectives of the organization and the Constitution of Russia, the wrongfulness of the founder or the non-recognition of the organization as a religious.
