The Orthodox Church of Ukraine has 7,000 religious communities, according to a member of the Synod of the united Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), Hromadske reports.

The Orthodox Church of Ukraine has 7,000 religious communities, according to a member of the Synod of the united Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), Hromadske reports.

“The Moscow Patriarchate has about 11,000 religious communities. We had over 5,000. While the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church had around 1,500. That is, it is now possible to say that there are about 7,000 religious communities in the unified Ukrainian Church,” Zorya said.

He also added that according to the latest statistics, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine is supported by 45% of believers, while the Moscow Patriarchate by 15%, according to Glavcom.

As of February 7, 227 parish churches of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate were transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
