Patriarch Emeritus Filaret assures Phanar he supports Metropolitan Epifaniy

Constantinople representatives reported: “The reputable Metropolitan Filaret of the former Kyiv Patriarchate assured His All-Holiness through his representatives that he continues to support, despite the external attempts to create an atmosphere of separation, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, who is also his spiritual child, and preserves awareness of and vivid interest in the course of the affairs of the Church of Ukraine.

On the occasion of the birthday of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Kyr Epifaniy, the delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate visited Kyiv to celebrate the first birthday of the Primate of the New Church. Within the framework of this visit, the Metropolitan Emmanuel of France and Deacon Gregory, the Second Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod, met with the venerable former Metropolitan of Kyiv Filaret.

During a hearty meeting with him, the hierarch of the Ukrainian Church once again thanked His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for his parental love and caring activities towards the Ukrainian people, as well as for the courageous protection of the historical and canonical responsibilities of the Throne of Constantinople.

He also conveyed his assurance through the representatives of His Holiness that he continues to support, despite the attempts from the outside to create an atmosphere of separation, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, who is also his spiritual child, and maintains awareness of and vivid interest in the course of affairs of the Church of Ukraine.
