Patriarch Kirill expresses gratitude to UOC MP primate for his loyalty
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow expressed gratitude for loyalty to the canons of the Church to Metropolitan Onufriy of the UOC MP before the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on August 30, 2019, Orthodox Life reports.
"You were involved in this service by God's Providence in dire times, Your Beatitude, you have lived worthily though these five years, very difficult years in the history of Ukrainian Orthodoxy," Patriarch Kirill noted.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church thanked Metropolitan Onufriy for "loyalty to the canonical order of the Church" and pastoral labor. Members of the Synod chanted "Many Years" to the Primate of the UOC MP.
The 60th anniversary session of the Holy Synod of the ROC, chaired by Patriarch Kirill, was held in St Daniel's Monastery of Moscow.
