Uman to set boundaries for the Hasidic pilgrimage area: 5-10 thousand people expected to arrive - фото 1
At an extraordinary meeting, the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations decided to set the limits of the area where the Bratslav Hasidim pilgrimage to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, Cabinet Minister Oleg Nemchinov said.

"For the period from September 15 to 21, 2020, it was decided to instruct the Cherkasy Regional State Administration together with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Consumer Service and the National Guard in the area of the pilgrimage: to set up an operational headquarters for the safe conduct of Rosh Hashanah celebrations in Uman with the involvement of law enforcement agencies, medical services, local governments, representatives of the Federation of Jewish communities of Ukraine and public organizations, to ensure its daily meetings to resolve operational issues; to establish the boundaries of the area of the pilgrimage," Nemchynov wrote.

All this is done to ensure the epidemiological safety of local residents and Hasidic pilgrims.
