A monk from the Univ Lavra of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Father Makariy Dutka, has raised 1.5 million UAH to support the Lviv 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.

In a Facebook post, Father Makariy announced:

"Dear friends, I am pleased to announce that 1.5 million hryvnias have been collected to aid the Lviv 24th Brigade. I am halting the collection for purchasing FPV drones and initiating a collection for our soldiers' electronic warfare and medical needs."

Explaining the importance of electronic warfare (EW) for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Father Makariy said: "Electronic warfare is a type of armed combat that creates radio interference for electronic reconnaissance and communication systems. We have one enemy, and we need to support our boys. Our boys need more technological equipment that helps in war, so we're striving for them, not giving up. Let's donate and win!"

He provided the details for donations:

Monobank account under the name Mykola Dutka, account number: 4441114429841834

PrivatBank account under the name Yaroslav Melnyk, account number: 5457 0822 7079 2125

Father Makariy Dutka, who was recently the prior of the Univ Holy Assumption Lavra, won the Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship on April 14. Instead of receiving congratulations, he requested assistance in raising half a million hryvnias for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
