A building of Evangelical Church set on fire in Oleksandria

In Oleksandria, Kirovohrad region, a building of the Evangelical Church “Good News,” located in the courtyard of City House of Culture at the address 6th December street, 2 was set on fire. The fire broke out today, on February 10, Moya Oleksandria reports.

 

The fire destroyed the roof and floor beams in two areas - in the hall of gatherings and the children's Sunday school.

 

Church pastor Mykola Vitchenko tends to believe it was arson.

 

The head of the Oleksandria Fire and Rescue Service Dmyro Kolesnyk said that the fire alarm was received at 2:46 at night. According to the officer, a wood pile was located near the church, which caught fire. The fire spread to the roof and destroyed 70-100 square meters of roof and beams.

 

When asked whether it could be arson, Kolesnyk gave a positive answer.

 

“It may be the case. Someone climbed and dropped a cigarette butt, or someone set fire deliberately. In fact it is called “bringing the external source of fire,” but the police will be establishing the motives,” he said.

At 12 am the fire fighting machine are still on watch by the church building. The faithful are taking out undamaged things from the building.
