A chapel was burnt in a village near Odesa

On March 26th at 17:39, the fire at the abandoned cemetery in the village of Berezin, Mykolayiv district of Lviv region was reported to the rescue unit.

Unknown people burnt to ashes a new chapel in the village of Lenino, Frunzivka district of Odessa region, as reported by Trasa E-95 news agency.

The construction was started by Petro Dyachenko, a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk whose late father once lived in the village of Lenin and asked his son to give a tribute to his memory.

Sponsors and ordinary villagers also contributed to the construction process. They installed windows and decorated the Orthodox chapel.

On March 26th at 17:39, the fire at the abandoned cemetery in the village of Berezin, Mykolayiv district of Lviv region was reported to the rescue unit.

It was found that dry grass set on fire. At the time of arrival of the fire and rescue units the fire engulfed the wooden chapel located at the cemetery.

At 18:36 the rescuers completely eliminated the fire, but unfortunately, the chapel was destroyed by fire completely, according to Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency of Ukraine in Lviv region.

Local residents suspect that the arson is the deed of mentally ill villagers. They have been caught several times at setting plantations on fire.

Law enforcement are investigating the incident.
