A deacon of Evangelical Christian Baptists Church killed under Russian shelling in Siversk

In Siversk, a father of five children, deacon of the Evangelical Christian Baptist Church Mikhail Makhnik, was killed under Russian shelling.

From Truskavets, Mykhailo went to Siversk to deliver aid to local residents, TG-channel of ECB Bratsvo reports. There, he wanted to cover the destroyed roof of the House of prayer with a film but did not manage to do it – on October 8. He was killed by Russian shelling.

On her FB page, Mylhailo's wife, Lilia Makhnik, wrote: "My darling, you loved this house (prayers) and tried to protect it. But our Heavenly Father has prepared for us a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. That's where we'll meet."

Senior Presbyter in the Donetsk region Oleksandr Kobzar says that the House of brother Mikhail was always open to everyone. Helping people he constantly tried to preach the Gospel. "And now Misha went to Siversk to repair the House of Prayer after the shelling because he wanted to make a shelter for the city's residents for the winter, settle, warm, feed," says the pastor.
