Answering the question of journalist Vasyl Holovanov about the fate of the UOC in unity with the MP in Ukraine, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak said that the government is putting an end to the dual church era.

“We need to learn how to close the door. We did not close the doors to the Russian Federation in 1991, and we have got what we have. There can be no two identical churches in Ukraine, especially if one of them has certain relations (and the SBU claims it has very close relations) with the Russian Federation, with the country that attacked us,” Podolyak said.
He has added that it is obvious how Gundyaev promotes the murder of Ukrainians, which is the highest cynicism. In this connection, Podolyak said: "We will put an end to the era of two Churches. We will no longer have two Churches. We will have a single local Orthodox Church. The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra should be completely Ukrainian. The service should be held in our language, the Ukrainian language. These are key fundamental elements."
The Adviser to the Head of the OP also believes that the UOC-MP should certainly be called the Russian Orthodox Church so that people who continue to go there realize that, in this way, they support the army of the aggressor country.
"We have one Ukrainian Church, and everything else is an instrument of influence of the Russian Federation, and we need to deal with this to the end. And it seems to me that this war will close many such stories, not only with religion but also with the media, politics and the economy, finally," Podolyak stressed.
"There must be simple, clear solutions. There is a Ukrainian Church, and there is a propaganda institute under any name, in this case, "UOC", which works for the value of another country," he concluded.
