Annual meeting of the Greek-Catholic bishops of Europe held in Košice

17 - 20 October in the Slovak city of Košice the annual meeting of the Greek-Catholic bishops of Europe is held. This year it is dedicated to the 1150 anniversary of the arrival of Saints Cyril and Methodius to the Slavic lands.

17 - 20 October in the Slovak city of Košice the annual meeting of the Greek-Catholic bishops of Europe is held. This year it is dedicated to the 1150 anniversary of the arrival of Saints Cyril and Methodius to the Slavic lands.

This event brings together the bishops from Ukraine, Poland, UK, France, Germany and Italy. Patriarch Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), head of the UGCC, also takes part in the meeting.

In Košice bishops, representing 14 local Catholic Churches of the Eastern rite, are discussing the cultural evangelism and the mission of Saints Cyril and Methodius from the historiographical point of view, but also focus on the problems faced by the Church today.
