Another series of raids in at least 9 homes of Jehovah's Witnesses swept through Yalta on March 11. Four people were detained for questioning. One of them was taken to Simferopol by security forces.
This is reported by the portal "Credo.Press" citing a source among the Russian Jehovah's Witnesses.
During the search, 42-year-old Taras Kuzyo was seized all electronic equipment and a large amount of money. The security forces did not wait for the believer to open the door and dumped it. He has already been searched twice before.
According to preliminary data, the reason for the raid was a new criminal case "on financing an extremist organization". The searches were authorized by the judge of the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol Viktor Krapko.
As follows from the materials of hundreds of criminal cases initiated against Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, the security forces consider peaceful gatherings of believers to be a crime, where they read the Bible together, listen to "Bible speeches", and participate in joint chants and prayers. Investigators interpret all this as a continuation of the activities of organizations recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and liquidated. Criminal prosecution for faith does not stop, despite repeated assurances from the Russian authorities that the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses is not prohibited in the country.
Recall that in Volgograd, the state prosecutor requested a record detention term for Jehovah's Witnesses - nine years in a penal colony.
