The clergymen of the Catholic Church of the two rites organized a traditional pre-Christmas meeting. This event was for the first time visited by the new representative of the Vatican, Archbishop Thomas Gullickson.  

According to the Catholic Media Center, the Roman Catholic Church was represented at the meeting by the Ordinary of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese, Archbishop Petro Malchuk, and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) was represented by Auxiliary Bishop Yosyf (Milian) of the Kyiv Archeparchy.

The guests were pleasantly surprised by the fact that the Apostolic Nuncio for the first time publicly spoke Ukrainian.

The nuncio in particular expressed his approval for the tradition to hold such joint actions and passed greetings on the occasion of Christmas to all Christians.
