Apostolic nuncio meets with Prime Minister of Ukraine

Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas met with Denis Shmygal on November 9.

The head of government congratulated the archbishop on his appointment.

"I hope that your appointment will strengthen our cultural cooperation and give us a better understanding of Ukraine and Ukrainians, the aggression on the part of the Russian Federation and the problems caused by the occupation of Ukrainian territories. It is important for us to show Ukraine and demonstrate that we are open to cooperation in various areas," Denis Shmygal said.

The prime minister noted that this year he had a very constructive and warm meeting with His Holiness Pope Francis, with whom he discussed practical issues. The head of government expressed confidence that cooperation between Ukraine and the Holy See would continue to develop.
