Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine visited the faithful in Donetsk

The Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine archbishop Claudio Gugerotti visited Catholic faithful in Donetsk. Since April 2014, the city has been controlled by pro-Russian separatists from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.

This was reported by the Catholic Media Center with reference to the community "Catholics of Donetsk - an official group" on Facebook.

During his trip, he was accompanied by the auxiliary Bishop of Kharkiv-Zaporozhye diocese Jan Sobilo.

The Papal Nuncio in Ukraine led the Liturgy in the church of St. Joseph. He preached and gave the papal blessings to all present believers.

Catholics of Donetsk conveyed congratulations to Pope Francis on the occasion of his birthday.
