The head of the Conference of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine, Archbishop Mieczyslav Mokrzycki sent Viktor Yanukovych an official greeting address on the occasion of his nomination as the President of Ukraine.

LVIV — The head of the Conference of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine, Archbishop Mieczyslav Mokrzycki sent Viktor Yanukovych an official greeting address on the occasion of his nomination as the President of Ukraine. RISU's Ukrainian-language web site posted this story on February 24, 2010.

“We hope for the continuation of the fruitful cooperation between the state and the Roman Catholic Church for the sake of the spirituality of the nation, peace, agreement, and consolidation of the Ukrainian society. We place special hope in the implementation of social programs declared by You and overcoming the economic and moral crises. In front of us is the joint Way of the Cross and the path pointed by the Savior," says the address.

According to the Catholic Media Center, the archbishop wished Viktor Yanukovych "Lord's lavish grace in the management of the Ukrainian state."
