Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby arrives in Kyiv

Archbishop Justin Welby of Canterbury arrived in Kyiv on a three-day visit in solidarity with the people and churches of Ukraine.

This is reported by Ukrainska Pravda, citing The Guardian".

"The people of Ukraine have shown extraordinary courage in the face of Russia's illegal, unfair and brutal invasion. This visit is intended to show solidarity with him as he faces an extremely difficult winter," the Archbishop of Canterbury said.

The archbishop said he looks forward to meeting with church leaders and local Christians in Kyiv to learn how "we can continue to support them in the face of the ongoing devastation, loss and destruction caused by this war."

He called on Christians of the Anglican Church and the whole world to continue praying for the people of Ukraine.
