Archbishop Pavel (Lebid) Elected Metropolitan of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl

The Superior of the Kyiv Cave Monastery, Vicar of the Kyivan Metropolitanate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) Archbishop Pavel (Lebid), on May 1 was elevated to the dignity of Metropolitan of Vyshhorod and Chornobyl, religion.in.ua reports with reference to the website of the UOC-MP.  

The consecration was administered by the head of the UOC-MP, Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan) at a liturgy at the Soborna Square of the monastery in concelebration with bishops of the Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox Churches.

The event was held at that time on occasion of the 50th birthday anniversary of Archbishop Pavel.
