Archpastoral Visit of Metropolitan Volodymyr to Kharkiv Diocese Begins
KYIV – On March 26, 2010, the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) arrived to the Diocese of Kharkiv for a two-day archpastoral visit, reports the web site of the UOC-MP.
The primate travelled to Kharkiv to participate in the festivities dedicated to the 40th birthday anniversary, the 20th anniversary of priesthood, and the 10th anniversary of the episcopal consecration of Archbishop Onuphrii of Izium, Vicar of the Diocese of Kharkiv.
Upon arrival to Kharkiv, Metropolitan Volodymyr met with the regional administration.
In particular, the archpastor met with the governor of the Kharkiv region, Mykhailo Dobkin, who
emphasized the Church's important role in the formation of the state.
During the meeting the primate conferred on Mykhailo Dobkin the order of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Hierarch Dimitry (Tuptalo), Metropolitan of Rostov.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration presented Metropolitan Volodymyr with a picture of the Holy Intercession Cathedral.
