Bishop Coadjutor of Sambir-Drohobych Eparchy of the UGCC Appointed

On April 21, 2010, Patriarch Lubomyr (Husar) brought Reverend Bishop Yaroslav (Pryriz), titular bishop of Aucia, auxiliary bishop of Sambir-Drohobych Eparchy of UGCC, to the dignity of bishop coadjutor of this eparchy.

VATICAN – On April 21, 2010, Patriarch Lubomyr (Husar), Major Archbishop of Kyiv-Halych, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), with the consent of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC that took place on November 29 to December 5, 2009, and having reported to the Apostolic Capital, brought Reverend Bishop Yaroslav (Pryriz), titular bishop of Aucia, auxiliary bishop of Sambir-Drohobych Eparchy of UGCC, to the dignity of bishop coadjutor of this eparchy, reported the Information Department of the UGCC.

Bishop Julian (Voronovskyi) has headed the Sambir-Drohobych Eparchy from the time of its creation in 1993 until now and who in May of this year will turn 74.  Since March 2, 2006, he has been helped by Bishop Yaroslav (Pryriz), who was ordained by His Beatitude Lubomyr in concelebration with Bishop Julian (Voronovskyj) and Bishop Mikhail (Sabryha).
