"The head of the Eastern Moldavian diocese, Bishop Filaret (Panku) of Falesti and Eastern Moldavia has returned to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate," the report said.

It should be noted that after the establishment of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, this diocese was to go under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

As RISU has reported, the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate no longer enjoys a legal status. Bishop Filaret (Denisenko) remains a member of the episcopate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, but has lost his canonical rights and lost his membership in the Synod of the OCU.
