The First All-Ukrainian Eucharist Congress of the Roman Catholic Church, which started on 26 May in Kyiv, continued in the eastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia. The most important events took place in the Sanctuary of God the Merciful Father.
On occasion of the celebration, on May 28, in the mentioned church, the Catholic hierarchs of the two rites, Bishop Marian Buchek of Kharkiv-Zaporizhzhia Diocese of RCC and Exarch of Donetsk-Kharkiv of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Bishop Stepan (Meniok) served a celebratory liturgy in concelebration with two Roman Catholic Bishops, Jan Sobilo and Stanislaw Shyrokoradiuk and with the participation of priests, monks and faithful of the southern part of the diocese.
“We would like this Congress to help people deeply realize the great gift of the Church left by Jesus Christ, for he is always present in the Eucharist,” Bishop Stanislaw Shyrokoradiuk explained the purpose of the spiritual action.
