Chief architect of Kyiv, Serhii Tselovalnyk, will be prepared to resign if the authorities promote the project of construction of a new church in the place of the ancient Tithe Church. The project is supported by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, reported Kyiv.comments.ua.

“I have been trying to explain to very influential people for a long time that it is not acceptable to build a new church on the remnants of the Tithe Church, which is a part of the world heritage. To make a museum and preserve the artifacts of the archeological excavations which are found 2.8 meters under the earth, it is sufficient to build a light but strong shed (to make sure it does not collapse under the weight of snow like the previous one,” said the architect.
