Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine named the Church that remains unapproachable in terms of the vaccination issue

According to Chief Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin, individual religious leaders are one of the problems of the low level of COVID-vaccination.

He said this in an interview for the media outlet "Gordon".

According to him, today there are about 30 problematic territorial communities that require more attention in terms of epidemic surveillance or anti-epidemic measures.

He noted that first of all, outbreaks occur at large enterprises with unvaccinated personnel or ignoring quarantine measures.

"The second big problem at the community level is local religious leaders who actively oppose vaccination. Explanations and active communication with people do not work, and almost the entire community either does not want to be vaccinated or completely ignores preventive measures," Kuzin stressed.

He also added that the Ministry of Health works with religious organizations, and the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and religious organizations supports all vaccination measures.

"We observe certain problems from the point of view of communication on the part of the UOC-MP, which is quite difficult to work with. It should be noted that anti-vaccination sentiments are usually not caused by large churches. This is either some local churches or, in fact, the personal opinion of local leaders," Kuzin stressed.
