Since a mosque was opened in Luhansk two and a half months ago, it has been the target of three attacks. The mayor of the city and the clergy of different Christian denominations call people to understanding and harmony.

In particular, the pastor of a local church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate stressed that each religion is dialogic and its representatives need to be open to a dialogue and understanding.

He added that Christians of different denominations, Judaism, Islam, and other religions are united by shared ideas in the area of ethics and benefaction.

According to message of the Service of Teleinformation of the Luhansk City Council, the misunderstanding does not come solely from the desecration of the mosque, but also from publications in the press. For example, there was recently a publication in one of the local newspapers where the teachings of Islam was distorted, giving a negative image to it representatives.

The mayor of Luhansk, Serhii Kravchenko, also called residents of the city to tolerance, which he says is a sign of the high level of consciousness and is an indication of a true culture.
