Head of the Center of Military Chaplaincy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Father Stephen Sus during a web conference on RISU spoke about plans for the Church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
The Lviv City Council transferred the ownership to the UGCC Archdiocese of Lviv on July 8, 2010. Before beginnng the process of transferring ownership, Bishop Igor (Voznyak), archbishop of Lviv, asked the leadership of the Jesuit Fathers in Ukraine for their position on this matter. The Jesuit Fathers accepted the decision to transfer this cathedral to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
Given the fact that in 1848-1939 the church served as church for military, the Center of Military Chaplaincy will continue the tradition. Father Stephen met the representatives of the Jesuit Order to discuss possible cooperation.
Today the church serves as storage for the Lviv Scientific Library. “We are looking for all possible options to find a suitable place for the books. It must be meed all the conditions needed to safely store these books," said Fr. Stephen Sus.
