Heads of Churches at a meeting with the President of Ukraine on the eve of Easter responded to the call of Volodymyr Zelensky to tell the faithful about the importance of vaccination. They clearly noted that there are no religious reasons to refuse vaccinations.
This is reported by the official website of the President of Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Metropolitan Epifaniy, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP), Metropolitan Onufriy, and the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk.
"At the meeting, the President was briefed that the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations has reached a common position on vaccination. It consists in the fact that there are no religious reasons not to carry out vaccinations, and vaccination should be safe, affordable and voluntary," the report says.
Volodymyr Zelensky, for his part, asked to tell believers about the importance of vaccination against COVID-19.
"It is also important for us that people who come to your churches for help hear about the importance of vaccination," the President said.
