Consultant for Christie's and Sotheby's Auctions to give lecture at Ukarainian Catholic University

Art critic, organizer of many exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, and consultant for Christie's and Sotheby's auctions, Professor Dmytro Horbachov will give a lecture “Ukrainian Icon as a Symbol of Cultural Unity between East and West” on Tuesday at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv.

Art critic, organizer of many exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, and consultant for Christie's and Sotheby's auctions, Professor Dmytro Horbachov will give a lecture “Ukrainian Icon as a Symbol of Cultural Unity between East and West” on Tuesday at the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU) in Lviv.

According to a report of the press service of UCU, the lecture is dedicated to the relations between the Ukrainian Orthodox culture and the western European Catholic culture. It deala with the iconography art of Ukraine starting from Alipii Pecherskyi [of the Caves] (11th-12th centuries) and ending with Hryhorii Levytskyi (18th century).

The lecture will start at 4 p.m. at the conference hall of the Philosophical-Theological Department of UCU (35a Khutorivka Street, Lviv).
