The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations published an Address on Protection and Care for Orphan Children. The document encourages all the religious communities to take an active part in the annual National Day of Prayer for  Orphans to be held on November 11. The decision to support the initiative of the Alliance “Ukraine without Orphans” was passed by the heads of the denominations during the session of October 3, 2012. RISU's Ukrainian web page posted this story on November 8.

Approximately 27,000 orphans need new families today. In view of this fact, the Committee of AUCCRO on Social Ministry defined the settlement of the problem of orphans as one of the priorities of its activities.  The Alliance “Ukraine Without Orphans” developed packages with printed materials, which have already been distributed to 10,000 Christian communities of various denominations. It is planned to hold a number of national and regional events including services, concerts, and celebratory events with the participation of orphans.
