Court Prohibits Construction Near Sophia of Kyiv

On 25 April, the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine cancelled the resolution of the court of appeal and confirmed the prohibition by the Economic Court of Kyiv of construction and maintenance works in the land plot at 17-23 Olesia Honchara Street.

Representatives of the Kyiv State City Administration reported to Кorespondent that the Kyiv State City Administration and Public Prosecutor’s Office submitted the appeal regarding the resolution of the Kyiv Economic Court of Appeal on 7 March.

“Today’s decision of the Court is a joint success of the authorities and society in the efforts to stop the scandalous development in the center of the capital. We are doing everything possible according to the effective law to stop the barbarian construction at Olesia Honchara Street which directly threatens an outstanding architectural monument, the Sophia of Kyiv,” stated the head of the Kyiv State City Administration, Oleksandr Popov.

The decision comes into effect from the moment of announcement thereof.
