CUA conferred Honorary degree Doctor in Human Rights to Archbishop Borys Gudziak

Today during the Commencement 2022 ceremony of The Catholic University of America Archbishop Borys Gudziak, President of UCU was awarded with an honorary degree of “Doctor of Human Rights, honors causa”.

Presenting the Archbishop the Master of Ceremony mentioned the war in Ukraine: «In the wake of the February 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, His Exellency called upon the world to observe the moral exemplarily of the Ukrainian people: “This moral foundation is what Jesus preaches, what the church is called to live. The truth of communion and justice, rather than violence and war, is God’s will for us. God`s truth will prevail.” Like the Ukrainian people he holds dear, Archbishop Borys Gudziak`s life and work witness to the truth of communion and justice, and above all, to the endurance of Christian hope.

For his dedicated service to the Church, to Catholic higher education, and to the people of Ukraine, The Catholic University of America is proud to bestow upon Archbishop Borys Gudziak the degree Doctor of Human Rights, honoris causa».
