The head of UGCC, Patriarch Sviatoslav, Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine, Archbishop Thomas Edward Gullickson, Archbishop Petro Malchuk of Kyiv-Zhytomyr Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church and clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate and Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church and bishops and pastors of the German Lutheran Evangelical Church and Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith of Ukraine (Pentecostals), in particular, their Senior Bishop, Mykhailo Panochko attended the event.
According to the website of the Committee for Christian Unity of the UGCC, the joint prayer meeting ended with an address of Patriarch Sviatoslav's to the participants. The head of the UGCC noted that "when we hear the word 'unity' we believe that Jesus entered the boat of our life and this means that the unity between churches is not only work of man but the work of God."
The primate also stressed that "we can be a great, European nation if we are together as united brothers and sisters, together as Christians."
