The unrecognized religious group, led by Antonin Dognal, has pronounced an anathema on the Ukrainian church leaders who signed an appeal for the European integration of Ukraine. The followers of Dognal believe the clergy “betrayed God.”

“The so-called necessary statement of the church leaders of Ukraine to the Ukrainian citizens about European integration is a betrayal of God, the church, and the nation. These leaders are openly deceiving the people and believers. They consciously equate the historic European values, which were built on Christian principles, with a new, anti-Christian system of the European Union,” say the leaders of the group.

The Dognalists believe that the EU “declared a rebellion against God and God's laws through the ideology of gender homosexuality. It leads to the satanization of Europe.” Thus all those who signed the statement, according to the sectarians, “pulled over them the heaviest punishment – God's anathema.”

As reported earlier by RISU, on September 30 Ukrainian church leaders issued an appeal, which expressed the general view that “our historical roots naturally determine Ukraine’s future – to be an independent state in the sphere of free European nations.” The statement was signed by the Primates of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, representative of Christians of Evangelical Faith, the Lutheran Church, the German Lutheran Church, and the head of the Union of Baptists.
