Following the results of a check-up at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, as well as consultations with doctors, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon for an angiogram that would evaluate the need for stent placement.

Later this afternoon, Ecumenical Patriarch underwent stent placement with success.

As reported by ERT, there is no concern about Ecumenical Patriarch’s health.

It was a problem that he knew about and the stent would be placed at some point.

So it was an opportunity – as they say – since he was in New York, which has very good hospitals, to undergo the surgery there.
