Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal officially visited the Ecumenical Patriarchate today and took part in the patriarchal Divine Service led by Patriarch Bartholomew.

At the meeting, the Ecumenical Patriarch announced that he would pay an official visit to Ukraine on the Independence Day of Ukraine in August next year, responding to the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The Ukrainian government delegation led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal took part in a solemn Liturgy led by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on the occasion of the feast of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called. This was stated on his Facebook page by the Head of the Department for Religion of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, religious scholar Andriy Yurash.
He said that at the service in St. George's church, the Patriarch remembered the Primates of all Orthodox Churches. This list also includes the head of the local Ukrainian Church, Metropolitan Epifaniy.
