Ecumenical Patriarchate Takes Active Role in Davos Meeting on Peace in Ukraine

In conjunction with the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, a significant gathering was convened to address the promotion of peace in Ukraine.

The fourth meeting of representatives from 83 states and institutions, organized at the initiative of Ukraine and hosted by the Swiss Federation, brought together key stakeholders, including the Ecumenical Patriarchate represented by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon.

The discussions during the meeting were comprehensive, touching on various critical issues related to the ongoing efforts to achieve peace and put an end to Russia’s attacks in Ukraine. Additionally, the participants focused on promoting Ukraine’s European course, emphasizing humanitarian initiatives such as the repatriation of abducted young children, addressing food needs, ensuring the security of war-torn Ukrainian citizens, and safeguarding the natural environment in the troubled country. The Ecumenical Patriarchate’s active involvement underscores its commitment to fostering peace and addressing multifaceted challenges in the region.
