Today, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has about seven thousand parishes. Metropolitan Epifaniy said it live during the TV program Right to Power on 1+1 TV Channel.

Metropolitan Epifaniy added that he expects an increase in the number of communities once the Tomos on autocephaly is received.

“Transitions should take place only under no coercion so that the communities exercise their right of free choice,” said the Primate of the OCU.

He noted that for the transition to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine a community should hold a meeting and vote for it. Thereafter, the believers should contact their local bishop or local authorities, who will advise on further steps.
