Every fifth bishop of the UOC-MP owns a house of more than 300 square meters. Every sixth bishop of the UGCC (4 out of 23) and every nineteenth of the OCU (3 out of 57) have such an estate.

This is stated in the project of Investigation.Info, 'Church Gold', 'Hromadske' ('Public') reports.

Within the framework of the project, information on the wealth of the senior clergy of the three most influential Churches in Ukraine was collected using the official registers and systematized in a single database.

According to the co-author of the project Yevhenia Motorevska, 20% of the bishops of the UOC-MP are people of vast fortunes with estates reaching several thousand square meters. At the same time, the other 20% have nothing.

It turned out that every fifth bishop of the OCU and UOC-MP do not have their own housing. In the UGCC, this ratio is one in three.

Journalists also calculated the average amount of land and real estate per one member of the top clergy of the three most influential churches in Ukraine. Thus, one bishop of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) on average owns 230 square meters of real estate, the UGCC - more than 190 square meters, the OCU - almost 114 square meters. Bishops of the UOC-MP and the OCU on average have half a hectare of land each. The number is twice less for bishops of the UGCC.
