According to the reports, yesterday more than 130 pilgrims who traveled to Ukraine in several organized groups to celebrate the Jewish New Year crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border (checkpoint "Krakovets"). In addition, at the airports of Kyiv, border guards started registering the Hasidim pilgrims. In particular, today about 20 flights with approximately 3,000 people are expected. The largest number of Hasidim are expected by border guards on Thursday and Friday.

“The largest number of pilgrim groups is expected at the airports of Kyiv, Odessa and Vinnytsia, as well as at border crossings with Romania, Slovakia and Poland,” the statement said.

In 2018, the Rosh HaShanah is celebrated on September 9-11. To celebrate the Jewish New Year, thousands of Hasidim arrive annually in Uman, Cherkasy region.
