Georgian Church Opened in Kerch

On May 9, in the Crimean city of Kerch, during a celebratory meeting on the Mitridat Hill, Metropolitan Serafim of Borzhomi and Bakuriani of the Georgian Orthodox Church presented to the Mayor of Kerch Oleh Osadchyi the Order of Prince Volodymyr Equal to the Apostles.

On May 9, in the Crimean city of Kerch, during a celebratory meeting on the Mitridat Hill, Metropolitan Serafim of Borzhomi and Bakuriani of the Georgian Orthodox Church presented to the Mayor of Kerch Oleh Osadchyi the Order of Prince Volodymyr Equal to the Apostles, reported Religion in Ukraine.

In addition to the metropolitan, the Georgian delegation of 15 persons that came to participate in the consecration of the Church of St. Nino included a leader of Cristian democrats Geworgii Akhvlediani and an expert Mamuka Areshydze.   

According to Metropolitan Serafim, Georgians living in Kerch acquired the land plot where the House of Georgian diaspora is located. The church was built in honor of Georgian soldiers who perished in WWII and was consecrated on May 9.
