Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Hanna Herman stated to UNIAN that "churches in Ukraine will not be sold,” rejecting the message of some mass media that the Kyiv authorities intend to sell the St. Nicholas Church building.

"Churches in Ukraine will not be sold – never, not under any circumstances and not under any government," she stressed.

According to her, all the insinuations around this theme are aimed to provoke people and sow unrest in the capital.

Ms. Herman also said that she just had a conversation with First Deputy Mayor of Kyiv Oleksandr Popov who also expressed his outrage over the information and assured that "this can not be, because this can not be.”
