The members of the Council of Hasidic Rabbis of Ukraine met with Ukrainian President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, the official site of the Jewish community of Dnipro reports.

The meeting was attended by the main Hasidic Rabbis of the regions of Ukraine: Rabbi Shmuel Kaminetsky (Dnipro, Central Ukraine), Rabbi Moysh Moskowich (Kharkiv, Eastern Ukraine), Rabbi Abraham Wolf (Odesa, Southern Ukraine), Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm (Zhytomyr, Western Ukraine), as well as the Chief Rabbi of Donbas, Pinchas Vyshetsky and the rabbi of Kyiv, Moshe Reuven Asman.

According to the report, the rabbis congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on his election as President of Ukraine, wished him great success in this difficult and responsible office and discussed with him the development of Jewish life in Ukraine and the issue of preservation and strengthening of inter-ethnic and inter-religious peace and tranquility in the country. The rabbis presented him with a special edition of the Torah - the Pentateuch of Moses.
