March 3, 2015, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt.

According to the Information Department of the UGCC they talked about on the current situation in Ukraine. Geoffrey Pyatt noted the important role of the UGCC in helping internally displaced, the wounded, the families and relatives of the soldiers killed in action.

Patriarch Sviatoslav said that it is in the service to the needy the Church shows up her motherly face. He spoke of the great social work of the Caritas Ukraine. "Ukraine is now in need of humanitarian assistance of the international community" - said the patriarch.
