The head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) supported the call of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine to declare a truce for the Easter holidays.

"I am convinced that this is a concrete practical step that together we can ask all on whom it depends. We ask to stop the fire at least during this holiday and that can become a beginning of lasting peace in future, end the bloodshed on our long-suffering Ukrainian land, "- said Patriarch Sviatoslav.

The patriarch is convinced that other heads of churches and religious organizations of Ukraine will support this appeal, Information Department of the UGCC informs.
